Against the backdrop of a cobalt-blue sky and sea, the white-stone Masseria San Domenico lies only 500 m from the Adriatic coast in the Puglia region of Italy. The building itself dates to the 14th century, when it was used by the Knights of Malta as a watchtower. The centrepiece of the hotel is undoubtedly the magnificent, irregular-shaped swimming pool encircled by rocks and plants and situated amidst 100 hectares of olive groves and orchards. The pool is filled with naturally filtered seawater, reflecting the philosophy of the hotel’s brand new Thalasso-therapy Spa. The San Domenico Restaurant with its arched vaults dating back to the 1700s is renowned, both locally and internationally for its exquisite food. Guests can take breakfast in “Sala Fico”, whilst the “Pool Grill” serves a daily regional buffet lunch. The hotel offers a private beach, two tennis courts, a sauna and a steam bath.
San Domenico Golf Club lies with its southern boundary as close to the sea as the rocky coast will allow. To the north are the olive groves and agricultural fields. The challenging 18-hole golf course offers an unforgettable experience for visitors and a superb view of the Adriatic Sea from every tee, green and fairway.
